I have just received my PhD in Computer Science from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. During my PhD I have done research on the improvement of selection tasks for the selection of 3D objects and graphical user interfaces in virtual environments. Although my PhD was focused on the improvement of selection tasks, I am also interested in manipulation and application control tasks. I have gained great experience in usability, the development of new interaction techniques and conducting user evaluations in virtual reality setups. Moreover, I have a vast knowledge on the development of OpenGL applications (C++, GLSL) and in the usage of virtual reality specific hardware such as tracking devices and multi-screen output devices.
As part of my PhD. I have developed a toolkit for easily prototyping 3D WIMP interfaces for virtual environments, which is freely available at the projects section. This toolkit is based on Qt and allows to display and interact with Qt interfaces within virtual environments.
I also have experience on volume rendering and I am a big fan of the usage of modern GPUs to improve the visual fidelity of virtual environments, such as shadowing and global illumination effects.
